Peritoneal dialysis is another form of blood filtration therapy wherein one’s one abdominal membrane called the peritoneum acts as filter to clean the blood. Varying amounts of fluids are instilledinto and removedfrom abdomen periodically and exchange occurs via the peritoneum. It is used to remove excess of salts, fluids and metabolic wastes from body.
