Hemodialysis
Hemodialysis
Healthy kidneys filter wastes and excess of salts and fluid from our body. When the kidneys are unable to do this, hemodialysis helps to sustain life by doing so. In hemodialysis procedure, blood is passed through series of tubes through a specialized filter called dialyzer wherein excess of salt, fluid and metabolic wastes are filtered out from blood and discarded into spent dialysate and clean blood is returned to the patient.
