Kidney Transplant

Kidney Transplantation is a surgical procedure to place a healthy kidney from a living or deceased donor into a person with end stage kidney disease under immunosuppressive medication cover. It is treatment of choice in such end stage kidney disease patients and preferred over dialysis treatments because of better quality of life and longevity, less dietary restrictions and lower costs.
This period refers to the time that a patient is on the deceased donor waiting list or prior to the completion of the evaluation of a potential living donor. The recipient undergoes testing to ensure the safety of the operation and the ability to tolerate the anti-rejection medication necessary after transplantation. The type of tests varies by age, gender, cause of renal disease, and other concomitant medical conditions. These may include, but are not limited to.

The full course of treatment should always be completed for UTIs, in order to ensure that the infection is fully clear, and to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance. UTI symptoms can disappear before the infection has completely gone.

Drinking lots of fluids, and frequently urinating are always recommended for people who have UTIs as this helps to flush out the bacteria. A variety of pain relief medications may be prescribed to alleviate pain. Applying a heating pad to the back or abdomen can also help.
